Snack Dispenser: Design

Here is a more developed concept for the healthy snack dispenser. Fun to spin to pick your favourite snack, it encourages children to see nuts, seeds and other healthy snacks as a treat.
The dispenser is quick, easy and clean to refill using refill packs.
Manufacture of a working prototype begins 25th April. Get your comments in now to have a say on the final design!

- How does it actually work?
- I like the circular design, it is different and attractive. Perhaps a little video clip would make it more obvious how it works.
- Here's an idea - instead of a snack rack (like that name?) make it a kind of spice rack, or ingredients rack. I think one of the things contributing to the obesity epidemic is how much snacking goes on all the time, and that's definitely not green. So what about maybe smaller slices and making it to be filled with spices instead?
Also, here's an idea to make it a little bit more green - make the design multifunctional. What do I mean? I mean put a feature or two on it that make it serve more than one purpose. For example, it could also be an analog clock. I'm not sure how workable that is, but it's just an example.
- Does there really need to be 4 different portion sizes, and why not have them closer together so you dont have to turn the whole wheel?
- kids are not animals, this design is similar to a pet bowl on timer, and what about all the healthy eating issues, kids need less snacks, and treats should be associated with good behaviour and given by an adult, not a modified pet bowl
- I am not a big fan of it. I agree that a better use would be for a spice rack to save space in small kitchens, with different buttons for different measurements.
Healthy snacks can be presented in a much easier way by just placing them in a bowl in a high traffic area (the coffee table for instance), rather than sitting on a wall. I don't think it solves any problems or concerns that people have with snacking. You can't put easy grab fruits and vegetables in it, which are much better than nuts and snacks.
It might be a good design option for a candy shop though. Put colorful candies inside.
